Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our welding and fabrication services

Questions & Answers

Common Questions

What types of welding do you perform? +

We perform all common welding processes including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW). The process we use depends on your specific application, material type, and strength requirements. For structural steel, we primarily use MIG and Flux-Cored processes. For precision work on stainless or aluminum, TIG is our go-to method.

Do you provide quotes over the phone? +

We can give rough estimates over the phone for common services, but accurate quotes require seeing the project details — either in person, through photos, or via blueprints. We'll always start with a free consultation to understand your needs before providing a detailed quote.

What is your typical turnaround time? +

It depends on the project size and our current workload. Small projects like gates or railings typically take 1-2 weeks. Medium projects like structural components usually take 2-6 weeks. Large projects are scheduled based on milestones. We'll provide a timeline estimate during the quote stage and keep you updated throughout fabrication.

What areas do you serve? +

We're based in Linton, ND and primarily serve southeastern North Dakota including Emmons County, Bismarck-Mandan, Dickey County, Logan County, and McIntosh County. Our mobile welding service covers this entire region. If you're outside these areas, give us a call anyway — we may be able to help or refer you to a trusted colleague.

Are your welders certified? +

Yes. Our welders are AWS (American Welding Society) certified, and we maintain certifications for structural welding (AWS D1.1) and pipeline welding (API 1104). We can provide certification documentation upon request for projects requiring inspection or compliance verification.

Do you offer mobile welding services? +

Yes! Our fully equipped mobile welding trucks can come to your location for on-site repairs and fabrication. This is ideal for farm equipment, construction sites, or situations where moving large parts isn't practical. Service call fees apply based on location.

What payment methods do you accept? +

We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. For large projects, we typically require a deposit (50%) before fabrication begins, with the balance due upon completion. We can discuss payment terms during the quote process.

Can you work from blueprints or CAD drawings? +

Absolutely. We can work from engineered blueprints, CAD drawings, or rough sketches. If you don't have drawings, we can help develop them based on your requirements. For structural projects, we may need engineered sealed drawings depending on local permitting requirements.

Do you handle installation? +

Yes, we offer installation services for most projects. This includes structural steel erection, gate installation, railings, and architectural features. Installation costs are separate from fabrication and are included in our quotes when requested.

What happens if I need changes after fabrication starts? +

We understand that needs sometimes change. If changes are needed before fabrication is complete, we'll do our best to accommodate them. Changes during or after fabrication may incur additional costs, which we'll discuss with you before proceeding.
